John & Romans
What They Are:
These Scriptures offer the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord. The following principles are given with the hope that they may help you see the great need of life that you have and can receive through repentance and faith in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ.
1. You need to see yourself as a lost sinner, separated from God and condemned to an eternal hell.
2. You need God's work of salvation.
3. You cannot save yourself
-
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.." (Titus 3:5)
-
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2: 8-9)
4. Jesus has provided for your salvation and deliverance.
-
"I (The Lord Jesus) and my Father are one." (John 10:30)
-
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)
-
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)
-
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." (1 Timothy 1:15)
-
"Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (Hebrews 9:12)
-
"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
5. You must repent* and accept by faith the Lord Jesus for your salvation and a home in heaven.
-
"... repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21)
-
"I(The Lord Jesus) came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Mark 2:17)
-
"I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3)
-
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12)
-
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10) *Repentance means to change one's mind...to change one's mind about his sinful condition and sin before the Holy God.
6. Today is the day to accept Jesus as your Savior
-
"...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2)
-
"Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:" (Hebrews 3:7-8)
7. Call on the Lord to save you and give you eternal life.
-
"For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10: 12-13)
We encourage you to repent, humbly admit your condemned condition as a sinner before God, and turn to the Lord Jesus by faith and trust in Him alone for the payment and forgiveness of your sins and the gift of eternal life.
-
"...him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37)
